Born and bred in the wilds of Long Island, Stan Brown made his way to the big city and graduated (eventually) from Binghamton University with a degree in "advanced book report." He then went to Fuji City, Japan, to teach the locals how to talk like a New Yorker. Five years later, an ad on the back of a matchbook sent him into the exciting world of professional game design.
Stan Brown has been publishing fiction, cartoons, and games professionally since 1982, usually under the pen name "Stan!." He is the author of fifteen short stories, two novels, more than fifty roleplaying products, plus innumerable comics and cartoons. He has served as a graphic designer and line editor for West End Games; an editor and game designer for TSR, Inc.; and an author, senior game designer, and creative director for Wizards of the Coast, Inc.
Stan! is currently the creative content manager at Upper Deck Entertainment. In his spare time, he still does freelance writing, game design, and illustration, plus he serves as the creative vice president for The Game Mechanics, Inc. He is currently working on (and in search of a publisher for) a series of short illustrated books, singing quite a bit of karaoke, and obsessing over his desire to own a robot dog.
Stan! lives in California where he eats nothing but meat and cheese. Visit him at his website.
