Rani and the Fashion Divas Are All Dressed Up . . . with Lots of Places to Go!

Rani Sen has a sincere passion for fashion in the latest amazing chapter in the Star Sisterz series. Those mysterious messages -- this time on Rani's cell phone -- have a way of changing lives. Will Rani's life become a model for success . . . or a fashion blunder?

Wizards of the Coast: So, Rani, I was impressed by how you managed to join the Fashion Divas -- the other girls just loved your fashion sense from India when you auditioned for them! How did you learn so much about saris and churidar kurtas?

Rani: My grandma, Tima, grew up in India. She came to live with us a while ago, and she taught me all about Indian clothing. She likes to wear saris, but she also wears American baseball caps. My mother grew up in India, too. She wears saris on special occasions. Sometimes when my cousins visit from India, they bring cool kurtas with them!

Wizards: The mysterious message on your cell phone -- "PUT COLD CREAM ON YOUR FACE AND GO OUT IN PUBLIC." Not exactly a popular fashion trend! Where do you secretly think that message came from?

Rani: Magic! The message couldn't have come from Tima. She cooks great Indian food, but she's not exactly the world's biggest technical wizard. She doesn't even know how to turn on my cell phone, and I have to help her turn on the microwave. Whoever sent the message helped me take a risk and learn the true meaning of friendship.

Wizards: Let's talk a little fashion and secret messages. Imagine that YOU could send a short secret message to each of these people about their fashion. What would you say to . . .

-- Ashley, the leader of the Fashion Divas?

Rani: Stop following the crowd. Make your own individual fashion statement. Try wearing your clothes inside out at school.

-- Bella, your best friend?

Rani: You're a true fashion original. Draw the designs for your very own line of clothing for Bella's Boutique.

-- Wendy, the "weird" girl who lives in your neighborhood?

Rani: Don't listen to the kids at school. Your mother's the best seamstress who ever lived!

-- Your grandma, Tima?

Rani: Please, Tima. Lose the purple running shoes and cut your toenails!

-- Veronica, the aging movie star who lives in the retirement community nearby?

Rani: Do you still have the beautiful outfits you wore in your movies?

Wizards: I noticed that both your grandmother, Tima, and the elderly lady you know from the Crystal Shores retirement community, Veronica, both have had very interesting lives. What is it about their lives that you find personally exciting?

Rani: My Tima climbed mountains in Darjeeling, India, plus she became a great writer and traveled the world. She didn't rely on anyone else. She took risks. Veronica married the man of her dreams and acted in Hollywood movies. She and Tima understand what it means to be independent and strong, and they know how to truly follow their hearts.

Wizards: So, how about Anjali Banerjee, the woman who helped you prepare your book Rani and the Fashion Divas? What do you know about her life? Is it exciting, too?

Rani: Anjali's as mysterious as the text message on my cell phone. She's been spotted hanging around in libraries or at home playing with her cats and rabbit!

Wizards: Well, your parents both seem to feel you'll be a doctor or astronaut someday, not a fashion model. What do you imagine is in your future?

Rani: I'll be a doctor, an astronaut, a teacher, and . . . maybe a writer. I haven't decided. Can I do all those things, or do I have to choose one?
