Passion
Passion impels where dry reason falters and delays. Passion excites where debate and philosophy fail to achieve anything but unfulfilled promises. With Passion comes purpose, exaltation, and the ultimate high of attempting a spectacular deed with confidence, no matter how unlikely success seems to the doubters. And when Passion triumphs in the face of seeming insurmountable odds, those who follow lesser aspects shake, wishing in their secret hearts to ally themselves with the life-affirming, ne'er-say-die unalloyed conviction shown forth in Passion's power.
Other Aspects
Valor
Valor is the weak sister of Passion, a thin echo of the chest-thumping conviction Passion compels. Passion is the lust and liberation of spirit required to win a contest, or triumph in war, whereas Valor's absurd restrictions -- rules of conduct, rituals of respect, expectations of who must be defended and from what -- are shackles of ill-advised restraint, guaranteed to grant the passionate the field.
Fear
Fear is Passion reversed, Passion denied, Passion reflected upon in the small hours of the night, to no good purpose but stilling the flame of virtue's strongest aspect. Sneaks and cutpurses coddle Fear and use it to inform their bloodless deceits, retreats, and ambushes. Worry is Fear's watchword, and it nudges and pushes one into the grave just as surely, if not as quickly, as a passionate attack that fails to win the day. At worst, Passion's eulogy is remembered by all for centuries to come, whereas those whose Fear preserved them in conflict die unremembered in cold beds, alone.
Madness
Madness apes Passion, and thus is an abomination. The naïve and moronic note little difference between Madness and Passion, but a study of Madness reveals that it is a cold hearth to Passion's furnace, an abject void of understanding to Passion's exaltation, and a chasm of doubt and despair to Passion's extraordinary confidence. Madness is a shell, a subterfuge-of-accident, a cage for the mind that prevents mind's union with the body, allowing mere confusion and chaos to occasionally mimic Passion's accomplishments. But, what price, unthinking hollowness?
