Dreamblade Player Rewards

by Greg Marques

One of the coolest things about the Dreamblade game, besides the superb strategic game play and the awesome-looking miniatures, is the elegant player reward system. The Dreamblade game’s rating points system is easy to understand and makes it convenient for you to earn cool exclusive prizes.

To get them, all you have to do is show up.

Free stuff, just for showing up!
When you register to play in the main event at one of these tournaments, the official will check your accumulated rewards points. Then they’ll hand you the prize you’ve earned, right on the spot!

If you have this many points:Every time you attend a 1K you get:Every time you attend a 10K you get:
100premium attack dievictory counter
2503 premium diceminis box
+ victory counter
5004 base markers
+ 3 premium dice
baseball cap
+ minis box
+ victory counter
10004 base markers
+ 3 premium dice
Dream Series playmat
+ baseball cap
+ minis box
+ victory counter

You never stop receiving rewards either. You can go to three or four or any number of 1K and 10K events in a row and collect your rewards each and every time. The sooner you start racking up points by playing in sanctioned tournaments, the more prizes you can accumulate throughout the year.

Where do I get points?
All you have to do is play in any sanctioned event. That includes all Edge, 1K, 10K, and any other smaller event that is DCI sanctioned. You don’t even have to win to earn points. Wait! What did I say? You don’t have to win to earn points? You’re rating goes up even when you lose? That’s right! Your rating goes up and up and up, even if you run into some bad luck and lose a match. As long as you’re playing the game, you’re earning points.

Every sanctioned win is worth 2 points, and every loss or draw is worth 1 point. Winning the tournament is even better. Check out this Edge Tournament document. As shown there, the winner gets 12 bonus points, second place collects 8, and even the 8th place player gets 2 bonus points. Since Edge events are weekly, you’ll be off to a running start if you play regularly.

Going to bigger events can really skyrocket your score. If you compete at a 10K tournament, you’ll earn 100 points just for playing, in addition to the points for all your matches. The winner of a 10K gets $2000 and 2000 bonus points!

How do I keep track of all my points?
You don’t have to; we do it all for you. All you need to do is bring your DCI number to the tournaments you play in. Don’t fret if you don’t have a number or have never played in a sanctioned tournament before. You will get your very own DCI number for free at the first tournament you enter. From then on your Dreamblade rewards points will be stored in our databases, where they can be checked anytime on our DCI ratings website or at official tournaments. All of our games use the same DCI number, so you only need to keep track of one. Your ratings for each game are completely separate from each other.

Are there any special events I could get invited to?
Once you reach 1000 points, you will be automatically invited to the biggest Dreamblade tournament of the year, the Dream Series Championship, to be held at Gen Con in August 2007. You can earn those points any way you would like (even if you do it by losing one thousand sanctioned games). The prizes are even bigger at the Dream Series Championship, and the winner gets their name added to a gigantic trophy that tours the world at our big events. When you see it, you should declare in a loud and clear voice to all of your friends “Someday my name will be right there!” while pointing to the nameplate on the base.

What happens to my points at the end of the season?
After the season is over, your points are not totally wiped out like you might expect. You get to keep a quarter of them for the next year. This means that if you have 400 points at the end of the year, you’ll be ready to receive the first 100-point reward at the very first 1K event of the next season! I know I’ve said it before, but if I were eligible, I would be sure to start earning points as soon as I can so that I don’t miss out on this great new player rewards program for the Dreamblade game!
