January 22, 2008 (RENTON, Wash.) – Wizards of the Coast, the world leader in hobby gaming, and a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS), today announced that they will bring the Heroscape® brand, previously operated by Hasbro, into their family of products. The transition will be fully effective on April 1, 2008, however Wizards is already working on future products for the widely popular build-and-battle miniatures game.
With other successful games such as Dungeons & Dragons® and Magic: The Gathering®, the Heroscape brand is a natural fit in the growing Wizards portfolio.
“Here at Wizards, we pride ourselves on knowing and understanding the needs of gamers,” said Laura Tommervik, Senior Brand Manager at Wizards of the Coast. “We’re excited to bring to market new Heroscape products that meet and exceed the players’ expectations.”
