Stirred from an eon-long slumber by nuclear testing off the Massachusetts coast in the early 1960s, James Lowder began a slow, chaos-spawning march toward Tokyo. He is currently stalled in Wisconsin, where there is very little of interest to destroy, so he creates fictional havoc in places like Arthurian England and Prohibition-era Chicago. His novels include Prince of Lies, The Ring of Winter, and Spectre of the Black Rose (the latter with Voronica Whitney-Robinson), and his short fiction has appeared in such diverse anthologies as Shadows Over Baker Street, Truth Until Paradox, and Historical Hauntings. He's helmed a dozen anthologies, some of them not involving zombies, and has been known to script comic books, pen book and film reviews, and even teach the occasional college course on writing or mass media. Statistics on collateral damage caused by any of these published works should be forwarded to the actuarial department on Monster Island.
